I am the one who haunts your memories at night that appears in you dreams Your days I grace with my thoughts on the TV screen I appear To give you guilt and fear
You may have walked far Crossed the desert on foot gone beyond the ocean Leaving your own continent I see you flocking out of my land My eyes weep as sadness settles in my heart
I am the mother that roams the city streets searching for food my children clinching my hand their cry echoing in your ears I am the farmer in tattered cloth scratching the dry land in the hope of growing his food
I speak many languages I have many religions my ethnicity quite diverse I am the sick with out hope the jailed that dreams of freedom as flying is natural to a bird I am the freedom seeker who has been unjustly killed
Today I come to you my child as the executioner bangs on my door ready to mutilate me ethnically slice me up with his hateful spear I come to you my child to help me keep my dignity don't let them destroy my diverse beauty
I want you to tell my story I want you to change my quite whisper in to a lions roar
you may not sit at their power table but you can stand at their gate your out cry may not be on their news worthy list but my child you can cause turbulence in their heart
they may be quick to give me alms claim that my land is at peace say there is plenty of democracy for me but fight my child take a firm stand as I will not settle for less than what my children had earned
My child don't let me lose my freedom the pride I have always had Come stand with your people come help push the executioners hand
Today I come to you my child as the executioner bangs on my door ready to mutilate me ethnically cut me up with his hateful spear I come to you my child to help me keep my dignity
Got this private email from someone called "Tigistu Aleke" mekellet@yahoo.com. Don't worry about the Amharic.
U jurks, it has been long since the power has come back to those who have to have it. u talk about 3000 years history which most of it belongs to the Tigrayan heros. Amhara's power came only after the stone head Minilik II. and amhara will never come to power from now on wards. Ende-enatachihu tut, enrm belut. Yemote zemed yelachum? Am glad that my father is from Tigray and my mam is Oromo, neither belong to the trush amhara people. and it is only today that i came to visit ur web site, fool of trush, and articles full of hatrade. It will not be too far when TPLF joins with OLF and crush amara. u will be sandwiched. u have lost the trust of Tigray people. it is good that the leaders from Tigray have managed properly the crisis in year 1997. we are proud of them. Count on me, TPLF members (even those onthe top) have convinced them selves that they have to build Tigray, economically and politically. after that guess what will come.................................... why do we live wiht amhara who hate every body who is different from them. God bless Tigray and Oromia.
You geddid? That's the EPRDF's base. Thanks for playing "Who is a Fara?"
the real cartman is a power mongering, hippie detesting, havoc-wrecking, two-face having, school-hating, foul mouthed, despicable xenophobic malapropist extraordinaire who’d sell his mother for attention. what’s that got to do with…. Oh. ‘kay.
ET Wonkette - if I may call you that... Just finished your "Melesization of Jeffrey Sachs", and I laughed my a** off with your excellent analysis and retort!
I am no Nancy but I was born into her race, of which I am currently very embarrased.

ET,
You are a splendid writer! (Got your link from Slate.)You should consider writing about Ethiopian politics for the MSM... maybe you do already?
Question- I figured what "ferengie" means, but not "Fara". Explain please?
Enjoyed my stay.

favorite cartman quote:
Cartman: You have rats in your house, too, Kenny?
Kenny: Mm-hm.
Cartman: Seriously, you better stop being so poor or else I'm gonna
start huckin' rocks at you.
Good work
keep it up
until the tyrant is removed from the back of our people and country
power to the Ethiopian power
David,
Here is an example of the prototype Fara (big F):
